OpenBet Arrives In The Big Apple With Mobile Sports Betting Launch Alongside FanDuel

OpenBet, the world leader in sports betting entertainment, successfully deployed its mobile sports betting technology in New York for its long-term partner, FanDuel, on day one of the newly-regulated market opening.

Mobile sports betting officially launched on January 8 after the New York State Gaming Commission (NYSGC) approved FanDuel and three other licensees to begin operations in America’s fourth most populous state.

The OpenBet team worked tirelessly to ensure its modern, scalable and robust betting technology met regulatory standards and allowed FanDuel, one of the world’s biggest sports betting brands, to be first to market with players in New York.

This latest launch further strengthens the partnership between OpenBet and FanDuel, with the Flutter Group brand now entrusting the sports betting provider’s leading technology across 13 U.S. states. In addition to New York, FanDuel also utilizes OpenBet’s platform within Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.

Leo Perrotta, Vice President, OpenServices at OpenBet, said: “We’re ecstatic that New Yorkers can finally enjoy legalized mobile sports betting, as well as grateful for the opportunity to work alongside FanDuel once again to deliver our market-leading technology.

“The huge potential that New York offers for the sports betting industry has been well-documented. Facilitating FanDuel’s launch on day one of the market opening was incredibly important to us and we’re excited to bring safe and responsible betting experiences to a wealth of payers across the Empire State.”
